The Goal Driven Business, is a must read for doctors in private practice. Future survival demands a shift from a personality driven practice, to a goal driven business. Empowering teammates to contribute and innovate, creates growth. Micromanaging must give way to a team effort to survive. Ed has nailed it, with all his years of experience, in this book! Read it and reread it, it is that valuable.

I WISH I WOULD'VE HAD THIS BOOK 30 YEARS AGO!
Mr. Ed Petty takes his reader on an entrepreneurial safari, complete with a roadmap for success. This is a relatable, actionable business or practice guide for conquering the challenges that come along with business ownership or private practice. If you’re wanting to start a business, fresh out of school or have been in the trenches for years, you will need to grab a notebook and pencil as this book is your “To-do” list for how to develop a successful goal-driven business. I have personally worked with Mr. Petty for years as he has helped me to convert my extremely personality-driven practice to a goal-driven practice. I am so grateful our paths crossed when they did. I wish I would've had this book 30 years ago! What an amazing compilation of the process of building a solid, goal-driven business. The author takes you through literally every "phase" of business practice and "chunks" it up into actionable steps. If you own a business, you need to read "The Goal Driven Business."!!

IF ANYONE DESERVES TO BE THE OWNER OF THE DOMAIN NAME GOALDRIVEN.COM, IT'S ED PETTY
People who know how to intelligently set and manage goals literally rule the world, get what they want and have better lives than those who don't.
This book codifies EVERYTHING you need to know about the process. It's written for people with professional practices, but believe me there are some Fortune 500 CEOs who could learn more than a few things from its pages.

BASED ON PRINCIPLES RATHER THAN PERSONALITY
As a business owner and a physicist, I appreciate the fact that the Goal Driven Business is based on principles rather than personality. Many of the business books I’ve read are either too dry and not action oriented or are based on one owner’s successful traits. Ed’s book and system focuses on goals and uses physics. He brings in Newton, leverage points, flow, Theory of Constraints, Pareto Principle, even elements of quantum physics and what he calls, the Goals Lab. Yet his system is practical enough that any small business owner can use it to grow their business. I will use it on mine.

IT IS A MASTERPIECE.
Mr. Petty, I have just finished reading your most recent book "The Goal Driven Business". It is a masterpiece. All this information should be bound in leather. Principles stand the test of time and the principles you have here will help independent healthcare providers stand their tests of time. Anyone who reads this book should read it many times. I should know. I have lived through many challenges as a business owner and can attest to the wrong ways. This is the right way.

FROM ED PETTY'S LIFETIME OF BUSINESS EXPERIENCE, COMES A DOJO FOR PROFESSIONALS - IN A BOOK!
The world is full of theoretical models of how professional practices should function. Here, in The Goal Driven Business, Ed Petty has made a promise to be explicit, "In the trenches", aiming for strong outcomes, and measured in the heart and purpose that makes a meaningful life. Read this book many times. Like a wise sensei/mentor, this book will incrementally improve your practice and your life. I've known and worked with Ed Petty off and on, for 36 years, and I know this for sure - the practices detailed here will work, if you do them!

From the Online Book Club:
I RATE THIS BOOK A 4 OUT OF 4.
The Goal Driven Business written by Edward Petty is a comprehensive guide to help you efficiently achieve your professional and personal goals. …
Businesses go through different stages of growth. This book thoroughly discusses issues that arrive at every stage and provides different strategies to keep pushing the business forward. Petty also teaches you how not to lose momentum once you get comfortable with a highly profitable business. You will learn why businesses that serve a greater purpose than just making money are the ones who will last. He explains how to establish an effective long-term goal that will focus 20% of your time to produce 80% of your results. Petty insists, “Steady, lasting income comes from building an efficient business structure that is constantly improving its systems and its people.”
What I liked most about this book is that Petty provides practical examples to apply the methods that he teaches. Every section consists of questions for readers to answer about their own business. There is space provided to complete many written assignments that allow you to work on your business goals while you are learning about the strategies in every chapter. This guides you to apply the knowledge from one section at a time and prepares you for the next steps that follow.
I rate this book a 4 out of 4. There is nothing that I disliked about this book. It is engaging, invaluable, and appears to be professionally edited. There were no grammar errors or typos. I recommend this book to readers who want to improve their current business model or those who can benefit from a comprehensive guide on how to start a successful business.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR PRACTICES
AND SMALL BUSINESSES
The Goal Driven Business: A New Business-Building Methodology That is Simpler, Faster, More Profitable and Fun than Whatever You Are Doing Now is an uplifting guide that connects business pursuits to personal satisfaction in a manner few professional or self-help titles achieve, and is highly recommended for practices and small businesses who want a better business-building model.
One might ask: aren't all businesses goal-driven? Surprisingly, the answer is no (although it should be a firm 'yes'). That's because too many business managers and owners experience a disconnect between their personal objectives and lives and their business, which seems to take on a life (and goals) of its own simply through the rigors of daily management processes.
The Goal Driven Business promises rewards for those who make the decision to absorb its principles and apply them to their own goals and business vision. It's an approach that is highly recommended for any business leader committed to change.

The goal driven business is a self-help book for those who own a business. The author offers a new methodology to simplify and fasten the current proceedings of a business. The book is used as a guide explaining the advantages of marketing and how to survive by aiming to accomplish goals rather than just leading projects.
The book also offers step by step methods for achieving success. There are five stages of development and furthermore actions that one can take to achieve such satisfaction.
I found the book to be educational and informative. The literature was easy to read and follow. What I believe made this book different from other self-help business books was its precise concept of approach. The author has experience in what he is offering, and he is honest about the outlook of things. Therefore, it was easy to just trust what he was relaying and taking notes.
I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for personal satisfaction in running their business.
