Chiropractic Office Engaged with its Community

Nurturing Your Chiropractic and Healthcare Practice

Summer.

Farmers markets. Parades. Fairs. Festivals. Run/Walks. Fruit festivals and musical festivals. Art walks/gallery nights. Car shows. Outdoor Yoga!

School is out and so is your community.

Are you out there too?

Community events are a direct method to create and often strengthen relationships with people in your community. It is a form of relationship marketing and is done by meeting people and building genuine connections.

This is networking.

A fantastic book on networking and relationship marketing is the World's Best Known Marketing Secret, by Ivan Misner (Founded Business Networking International). Here's a quote:

"First, you have to be visible in the community. You have to get out there and connect with people. It's not called net-sitting or net-eating. It's called networking. You have to work at it."

But given the right attitude, it doesn't have to be work-work. It can be fun-work.

One office is inviting their patients to sign up for the local "Cheesehead Chase", a local 2 mile - 5-mile run/walk. If a patient signs up for the race, the clinic will provide them with a clinic T-shirt. It is amazing to see 30 or more "ChiroHealth Cruisers" all starting the race together. (See sample promo. Link below.)

In my small town we had the Olive Festival and Pioneer Days. What does your town have?

Even if you are a well-established and mature chiropractic or healthcare business, you can't coast. You should get out there! The market changes fast. That is evolution. The herd gets "thinned" as only the strongest survive. You won't even notice the momentum slowing, and then a year or two later, the numbers suddenly drop, and you don't know why.

So, keep marketing.

And if your practice is newer or needs a quick turnaround, that's all the more reason to get involved with your community.

Get out there with your clinic polo shirts, your cards, and your "Get to Know Me" attitude. And, of course, throw in some of that "Friendliness and Cheerfulness" attitude. (You can download our 8 Marketing Attitudes to discuss with your team. Link below.)

You can set up a booth and provide consultations, screenings, "bent pens," a drawing, or just an opportunity to say "hi!"

Meet with your team and come up with some events to participate in. Schedule them and practice the Marketing Attitudes.

Misner again:

"We all live in our own little boxes. We drive to work in a box, sit in a box at work, stare at a box (computer), and then drive home in our box and sit in front of another box (TV). We need to get out of our boxes and connect with people."

People prefer to do business with those they are familiar with, they like, and trust.

So, get out there and get familiar! 😉

And stay
